Triple "G" Campground - Fort Nelson, BC

The first three hundred miles of the Alaska Highway are across the northern plains of British Columbia, hilly with some large rivers.  We crossed the Peace River on the replacement bridge for an old suspension bridge that collapsed after only a few years (the same company that built the Golden Gate Bridge).  Into Fort Nelson, the home of the largest natural gas processing plant in North America.

The Triple "G" has its own restaurant...and since it was Friday night...prime rib for me and spaghetti and meatballs for Deb...we shared our table with two sisters, one from South Carolina and one from New York...they were either coming from Alaska or going there...in either case...one of them thought the Alaska Highway was a long road, and the other thought it was a great adventure.

We're off today to cross over the Rockies.
