Attons Lake Regional Park - Peyton, SK
Still wheeling our way along the Trans Canada Hwy...it's Canada Day and a Saturday...which means every campground in Canada is full to capacity. We luckily have reservations... a little off the beaten path. With 10km left to go, the road turns to washboard dirt...but in the back of my mind, I know that great places are at the end of washboard dirt roads. Once we check in, we drive to the campground...if there ever was an image of the campground from hell...we have arrived. This is campground for locals on a long week-end. A 10 acre party. Our site is occupied by two large pick-up trucks. So back up the hill to the office...security has had them moved...back down the hill. Deb says, "this isn't our site...it's the one next to it with the mega trailer on it....back to the office. There are no other sites....Deb asks if there is an overflow...and yes, we have a site, removed from the chaos, all alone with a million dollar view. I just knew there would be a great place at the end of a washboard dirt road.

Looks like you dodged a "bullet" and found peaceful spot. Did you party with the locals?
