We are getting ready for our trip up north.  It will be great to see family on this trip.  This will be our first trip to Canada in a long time.

Mother's Day at First Landing

A perfect day, although the first tropical depression of the season "Ana" was looming off the Carolina's.  Went biking 9 miles with our new "bikes"  and nothing broke...on either Deb or me!
The bike ride was followed by a leasurely stoll on the beach, a few naughty snacks, a Mother's Day dinner, a few bonbons, a timely call from each son, and then, of course, the required sitting on the sand watching the sunset.

First Landing State Park - Virginia Beach, VA

We are on a Mother's Day getaway.  First Landing is still one of Deb's favorite parks, and fortunately, the closest to our home..  The park has been revamped somewhat since we were here last year, and now site G10 (E/W pull-thru) is her favorite surpassing our old standard G30.  Drex finally got to walk on the beach, after not being able to in all of Florida.  And after months of planning and shopping and gnashing of teeth, we finally went for our first bike ride on our new "comfort" bikes (that's a euphemism for "old people bikes" with shock absorbers on the front wheel and more importantly on the seat). Tonight is cheeseburgers, with potato salad,  followed with potato chips (after a month of abstenence, Deb may go into some sort of fried food shock).
